Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?

My father is in law enforcement, and my sister is a dispatcher. Both back in Oklahoma. My father's police career partially inspired me to become a prosecutor. I come from a family of public servants, and this is an opportunity for me to expand that service.

Previous or current elected or appointed positions

This is my first time seeking an elected position. There wee a few clubs in law school and college where I served on boards, but this is a first shot at an official position.

The single most important pressing issue facing the community is _______ and this is what I intend to do about it

The single most important pressing issue facing the Concord community is the shortage of affordable housing. This affects a broad spectrum of people, including young families and seniors on fixed incomes. To address this, I intend to work collaboratively with city officials and developers to look in to zoning regulations. Property taxes are often another hurdle for first-time homebuyers, who may be approved for a mortgage but then have to add on another hefty payment each month. I would work towards minimizing increased to local property taxes to make home ownership more possible.

List three other things you would like to work on if elected or re-elected

  1. Public Safety
  2. Homelessness
  3. Infrastructure/Services

Name a couple of accomplishments in the past that show you can handle this position

Working in public service the last 4 1/2 years, along with law enforcement, has given me a perspective that would be beneficial to the city council. I have worked with the boots on the ground and seen what issues Concord is facing. This new viewpoint will be to the benefit of the council, and ultimately to Concord.

Share any other thoughts or ideas you would like voters to know about yourself

I have made Concord my home, because it allows me to achieve fulfillment in both my personal and professional life. Within an hour of Concord, I am able to climb mountains, fish rivers, swim in the ocean, or spend a weekend disconnected in the woods. I love this city and everything that it provides for me, and I am asking that Ward 4 of Concord choose me to help provide those services to them.
