Man With Active Gun, Drug Charges In Concord, Arrested At Queen City Hotel On Protective Order Violation
Ludwig Haken of Londonderry was arrested Saturday morning after a standoff with Manchester police at the Comfort Inn on Queen City Avenue.
MANCHESTER, NH — A man from Londonderry, with active felony charges out of Concord, was arrested Saturday after a standoff at a Queen City hotel.
Ludwig Haken, 40, of Londonderry, was arrested Saturday on stalking and resisting arrest charges. According to police, at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Comfort Inn, located at 298 Queen City Avenue, for a report of a violation of a bail protection order. When they arrived, they learned Haken was in a hotel room with a woman, Heather Hamel, the public information officer for the department, said.
“Officers made announcements outside the door, identifying themselves and asking Haken to come to the door,” she said. “He did not comply. Concerned that Haken may be armed, officers backed away from the door and SWAT was called to the scene.”

Haken was taken into custody later and charged. The woman, Hamel said, was not harmed during the incident. He was arraigned Monday in Manchester District Court.

Haken’s criminal history dates back more than 20 years.
Haken was recently indicted in Merrimack County Superior Court on falsifying physical evidence, felonious use of a firearm, and two controlled drug act; acts prohibited, oxycodone and methamphetamine charges, all felonies. He was accused of possessing the drugs in Concord on Aug. 15, 2024. Two firearms were wrapped in a tarp, and he attempted to carry them to a vehicle where his drugs were located, an indictment said. The evidence charge was an accusation Haken concealed the firearms to impair an investigation in Concord on Aug. 15, 2024. He has a dispositional conference hearing scheduled for Aug. 7.
Back in March 2022, Haken was arrested on several domestic violence charges, including two strangulation charges, which were felonies, after an incident in Londonderry. He was indicted on the charges in September 2022. The prosecutor’s office requested an out-of-state subpoena for a witness in the case. But two weeks later, just before the trial was set to begin, they nolle prossed the case.
In March 2024, he was arrested again on stalking, breach of bail, and hindering apprehension-prosecution charges in Londonderry.
In July 2023, Haken was arrested on warrants from the Londonderry police and for failure to appear in court. He reportedly surrendered peacefully to police after about 40 minutes, according to a post on Instagram. Haken was charged with criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, witness tampering, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, simple assault, breach of bail, and domestic violence.
Haken was previously charged with criminal threatening-deadly weapon in October 2020 after an incident in Hooksett. The charge was nolle prossed about 13 months later.
In 2007, Haken was arrested by Londonderry cops on a warrant and a felony assault charge. In 2003, he was charged with disobeying an officer in Londonderry.
According to press reports, Haken served in Afghanistan while in the U.S. Army. He also ran for the state Senate as a Republican in Londonderry.
