CONCORD, NH — A man from Manchester, previously arrested on a sexual assault charge in December, is facing new charges in Concord involving accusations of manufacturing child sexual abuse videos and sexual assault.

Alexander Colbath, 25, of Upland Street in Manchester, was arrested on Jan. 8 on violation of privacy, felonious sexual assault, manufacturing child sexual abuse images, and endangering the welfare of a child-solicit sex charges, all felonies.

On Sept. 7, 2025, a detective began investigating a report from a Penacook parent about concerns she had about a babysitter she had hired on Sitter City to watch her three children the night before. The parent accused the sitter, Colbath, of giving one of her children adult Benadryl, and the other was instructed to soil herself in her diaper even though she was potty trained. In speaking with one of her daughters, the mother learned that after asking to go to the bathroom, Colbath told her to go in the diaper instead, an affidavit said. The incident reportedly happened in the basement of the home. The mother, however, was confused by this and later found baby wipes with fecal matter on them in the basement.

The girl “at the onset of the interview… almost immediately” told the forensic investigator she wanted to speak about Colbath, the affidavit stated. The girl, 5, accused him of not letting her use the toilet. She also called him mean and said, “Sometimes, I think that he has a camera watching me pee (in) my pullup, on accident,” the report said. Colbath was also accused of telling the girl to squat and showing the investigator how she would hold onto the wall and go to the bathroom, the affidavit said. The detective said the girl told her Colbath spent time with her and her sister.

Later that day, the detective spoke with a detective in Manchester who had extracted an extraction from Colbath’s cellphone after requesting a search warrant. The Concord detective also requested a search warrant for the extraction of the iPhone 15 Pro Max between Sept. 2 and Sept. 10, 2025. After it was granted, the extraction from Manchester police was provided to the Concord detective on Jan. 2.

A review of the cellphone found a 6:17-minute video, the affidavit said. In the video, Colbath was accused of touching the girl in the buttocks, and the girl slapped his hand away. The camera then pans to Colbath’s face, the affidavit said. The video metadata showed 7:29 p.m. on the evening he was hired to babysit the kids, as did the geolocation of the home, the report said.

A second video, around 50 seconds long, showed one of the girls in the bathroom, and a man’s hand could be seen reaching out to pull the child’s diaper away. The report said the ring on the hand of the man matched one Colbath was wearing in another photo of his wife and his newborn from Sept. 2. Colbath was accused of speaking with the girl about relieving herself in her diaper while the video was running, the affidavit said.

“No,” Colbath said, according to the report, “We’re going to go in the diaper, remember, we talked about it.”

The metadata and geolocation connected the phone to the home at around 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 6, the report said.

The reporting detective and a second detective received a consent search of the family’s home and matched items in the home that were seen in the video, including the gray carpet, a television, chairs, and a shelving unit with distinct drawers, according to the affidavit. The parents also located the clothes the children were wearing, matching the ones in the video, the detective wrote.

A warrant was issued for Colbath’s arrest on Jan. 6, and he was arrested on Thursday. Colbath was arraigned in Concord District Court on Friday.

According to CBS News, when Colbath was arrested in the Manchester case, he was released on personal recognizance. The hospital said in a statement, “The safety of our patients, staff, and visitors at Elliot Health System is our highest priority.”
