NEW HAMPTON, NH -- A teenager was killed in a crash the day after Thanksgiving on Interstate 93 near Lake Winnipesaukee and police suspect speeding was a factor. Lucien Theberge, 18, of Quincy, Massachusetts, was driving a sport utility vehicle on the northbound side of the highway when he veered off the road and crashed into a group of trees in New Hampton Friday at about 6:30 a.m., according to New Hampshire State Police Sgt. There was one passenger -- a 16-year-old who was seriously injured, Sampson said in a statement. The 16-year-old was medflighed to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

"It is unknown what led to the vehicle driving off the roadway but unreasonable speed appears to have been a factor," Sampson said.
