WEARE, NH — Firefighters from multiple towns responded to a report of a single-family house fully engulfed in fire at 77 Sewell Hoyt Road early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters arrived shortly after 1 a.m. and found heavy fire coming from the house and a vehicle in the driveway. Due to the intensity of the fire, crews made a defensive attack from outside the building. Crews were challenged with live wires down and ammunition going off from inside the structure.

There were reports that the resident of the house may still have been inside. The New Hampshire Fire Marshal’s Office has confirmed that after the fire was knocked down, a man was found deceased inside the home.
