Manchester Man Injured During Dirt Bike Crash On Stark Pond Trail In Dunbarton
Daniel Bacon of Manchester was thrown from the bike after applying the front brake too quickly on Thursday afternoon, NH Fish and Game says.

DUNBARTON, NH — A man from Manchester was taken to Concord Hospital after a dirt bike crash on a trail in Dunbarton Thursday.
Around 4:30 p.m., Dunbarton police and fire and rescue teams were sent to the Stark Pond Trail, part of the Hopkinton-Everett OHRV Trail System, for a report of a crash. New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officers were also called. The rider, Daniel Bacon, 54, of Manchester, was thrown from the bike and taken by fire and rescue teams to Concord Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to Conservation Officer Griffin McKeown.
McKeown said the investigation revealed Bacon approached a left-hand turn on the trail, applied the front brake of the bike too quickly, and was thrown over the handlebars.

“Bacon was wearing a helmet and proper riding attire, including gloves and riding boots, at the time of the crash, which likely prevented more serious injuries,” he said. “It appears inexperience was the leading cause of the crash.”
McKeown said the department reminded dirt bike and OHRV riders always to wear safety equipment such as helmets and eye protection.
