Manchester Woman Arrested After July 3 Hit-And-Run Crash That Left Hooksett Girl Severely Injured

Shanin Gladysz was arrested on a conduct after charge after being accused of leaving the scene but later reporting the incident, police say.

HOOKSETT, NH — A woman from Manchester has been arrested after a hit-and-run incident on July 3 in Hooksett that left a young girl with severe injuries.

Around 4:45 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams were sent to the Londonderry Turnpike between Whitehall and Farmer roads for a report of a crash in which a juvenile was injured crossing the road.

According to witnesses, a vehicle was stopped at the crosswalk, but a second vehicle pulled around the first vehicle and struck the child as they were crossing. The child was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Lt. Valerie Lamy of the Hooksett Police Department.

Casey Desilets of Pembroke started a GoFundMe.com fundraising website to raise money to offset some of the medical costs the family will incur as Lorelei or “Lolo,” as some friends call her, recovers from the crash. Desilets said friends and family were trying to stay positive about the situation.

“Thankfully,” she wrote, “she has a strong support system and will rise above this challenge with a few breaks in her hip and tailbone, concussion, and a bit of road rash. In time, she will be OK, and her resilience will shine through as she navigates a long summer of recovery ahead.”

Nearly $13,000 has been raised as part of the effort.
