Motorcyclist Killed In Accident Involving U-Haul Truck In Laconia

LACONIA, NH — Laconia Police are investigating an accident involving a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a U-Haul box truck that occurred Friday.

The accident occurred at 9:14 a.m. Friday on South Main Street at the intersection of Grant Street and Route 106, according to Laconia Police Chief Mark Canfield. The 62-year-old man operating the motorcycle was seriously injured and transported to Concord Hospital by the Laconia Fire Department. The occupant of the U-Haul was not injured, according to police.

The operator succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident on Sunday and is identified as Bart Merrill.

There are no charges at this time, and the investigation remains active, according to police.
