Nearly 2 Tons Of Food Delivered To Concord Area Food Pantries

The Capital Region Food Program delivered thousands of pounds of nonperishable food items to 12 organizations last week.

CONCORD, NH — The Capital Region Food Program is continuing to deliver food to Concord and surrounding community food pantries, churches, and other social service agencies.

The organization delivered 1.93 tons of nonperishable food to 12 organizations on Tuesday, according to Jennifer Carleton of the Capital Region Food Program. The food delivery was a part of the organization's year-round distribution project. The deliveries included canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter, breakfast cereal, pasta, and soups. The agencies received the food at no cost, she said.

Partner agencies receiving food during the latest distribution effort included the Boscawen Congregational Food Pantry, the Boys & Girls Club of Central NH, the CenterPoint Church Food Pantry, the Christ the King Food Pantry, the Epsom Food Pantry, the Friends of Forgotten Children, the Gospel Light Food Pantry, Merrimack Valley Day Care, the Pittsfield Food Pantry, the St Paul’s Church Food Pantry, the Suncook CAP, and the town of Boscawen Human Services.
