NH Child Helps Rescue Injured Bald Eagle
A New Hampshire child alerted police to an injured bald eagle in Lebanon.

LEBANON, NH — A New Hampshire child helped rescue an injured bald eagle over the weekend, according to police. The rescue happened in Lebanon on Plainfield Road. Police said a child noticed the injured eagle and alerted police. Responding officers secured the bird and workers with the Vermont Institute of Natural Science captured it for rehabilitation.
The bird was treated but its injuries were deemed too severe and it was euthanized, police said.
"Thank you to the juvenile who reported the injured eagle, (the Vermont Institute of Natural Science), and all who came together to try to save the eagle," Lebanon police Chief Richard Mello said in a statement.
