LINCOLN, NH — New Hampshire Fish & Game Department was notified of an overdue ultra-runner from his trip to the Pemigewasset Wilderness on Friday
The runner, identified as Chris Naimie, 60, of Wilmot, was reported as overdue by his family, according to conservation officers. The family believed he planned to finish the 26-mile trek around 4 pm. Naimie had set out to run a loop starting from the Eastside trail to the Shoal Pond Trail and returning via Thoreau Fall’s Trail to the Lincoln Woods parking area.
Due to the oncoming low temperatures and the family's reported lack of cold-weather gear, a search response was initiated. Conservation officers and volunteers from the Pemigewasset Valley Search and Rescue Team began to respond to the Lincoln Woods parking area. At approximately 8:30 pm, a conservation officer was able to locate Naimie by ATV along the Eastside Trail.
