New Hampshire State Police said a Seekonk, Massachusetts, man and a 13-year-old boy were hurt in a jet boat crash on Lake Winnipesaukee.

MEREDITH, NH — A child and adult were injured in a jet boat crash on Lake Winnipesaukee Friday night. The crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. in Meredith in the area of Cattle Landing, according to New Hampshire State Police. Four people were aboard a Yamaha jet boat driven by Shawn Carr, 35, of Seekonk, police said.

The group saw the Weirs Beach fireworks from the boat and were traveling back when the boat hit a submerged rock, police said. The boat was traveling about 12 mph at the time.

Carr was ejected from the boat and suffered a head injury, police said. The 13-year-old boy, who was not identified, suffered facial and hand injuries, police said. The two other passengers were not hurt.
