NH Stolen Vehicle Chase On I-93 Ends In Arrest: Police

New Hampshire State Police said Joseph Costello, of Belmont, drove a stolen vehicle high on drugs and led officers on a chase.

HOOKSETT, NH — A New Hampshire man driving a stolen vehicle high on drugs led State Police on a chase on Interstate 93 Friday night, authorities said. Joseph Costello, 26, was eventually arrested and charged with a host of crimes.

The incident started at about 8:51 p.m. when officers received a report Costello was "all over road" on I-93 south in Canterbury, according to State Police Sergeant Daniel Baldassarre.

"(Witnesses) described the vehicle as being all over the road, almost hitting signs and other vehicles," Baldassarre said in a statement.

Officers caught up with Costello and learned his vehicle was stolen out of Laconia, according to Baldassarre.

"Troopers ... activated their emergency lights and sirens, and attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, however the vehicle did not stop and a pursuit ensued," Baldassare said. "The vehicle continued to operate at erratic speeds and was all over the roadway."
