NH Teen Shot Mother, Man: Prosecutors
New Hampshire authorities said James Belyea, 17, of Farmington, shot his mother and a man in Farmington. The man, James LaPrade, died.

FARMINGTON, NH — A 17-year-old New Hampshire teenager was charged with shooting his mother and another man in Farmington, authorities announced Wednesday. James Belyea, 17, of Farmington, was charged murder and attempted murder, according to New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald. Belyea is accused of shooting James LaPrade, 33, of Farmington, with a handgun on March 15, 2017, at a Farmington residence. LaPrade died. Belyea also shot his mother, Denise, who survived.
Authorities did not say what kind of relationship Belyea had with LaPrade.
