CONCORD, NH - NH State Trooper Matthew Merrill who was shot multiple times in an incident in Dalton, NH on December 23, 2020, was released Thursday from Dartmouth Medical Center.

NH State Police Trooper First Class Stefan Czyowski of the NH Troopers Association said that Trooper Merrill was released from DHMC, and will continue his recovery at an undisclosed location.

Trooper Merrill was shot multiple times when conducting a traffic stop. Gunfire was exchanged with the driver of a vehicle and Merrill was injured, and Mark R Clermont of Whitefield, NH was killed at the scene.
