NH Woman Admits To Trafficking Meth From Las Vegas

New Hampshire authorities said Katie Jo Waters was found with a pound of methamphetamine and a gun after obtaining the drugs from Las Vegas.

CONCORD, NH — A New Hampshire woman this week admitted to trafficking a pound of methamphetamine from Las Vegas. Katie Jo Waters, 29, of Pembroke pleaded guilty to drug distribution and conspiracy charges in federal court in Concord.

U.S. Attorney Scott Murray said Waters paid $18,700 to Las Vegas meth suppliers in exchange for the drugs, which were mailed to her in New Hampshire. Authorities intercepted the packages before they reached Waters and she was taken into custody in April in Canterbury, where she was found with 38 grams of meth and a pistol, Murray said.

"Even as we struggle with the opioid crisis, methamphetamine poses an increasing threat to the citizens of New Hampshire," Murray said in a statement. "This dangerous drug can cause damage to those who use it and it also creates substantial public safety concerns."
