Why are you seeking elective office?

I see this as another opportunity to keep the oath of allegiance to defend and protect the United States of America, the US Constitution and the NH Constitution that I made at entry into military service. I also see this as an opportunity to give the voters in my Ward a choice of candidates.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Keeping the integrity of our Constitution. There were eight (8) attempts to amend the NH Constitution in this last session, one of which was to insert a provision for broad-based taxes. If our Constitution changes to serve a particular agenda, then our rights change accordingly. And the sad thing about that is, most won't notice until those rights are gone.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

Our parties' platforms.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform

Our residents and small businesses need tax relief. That equates to affordable housing and small business growth. Regulatory practices also need to be examined and addressed for business growth. Our educational system needs to be adapted to fit the needs of all children, in all communities.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

My study of our heritage shows that the Founders of this nation had a healthy distrust of government, and their intent on creating the Constitution was to curtail government encroachment upon the people by providing a system of checks and balances. We have allowed the boundaries of that system to be blurred. Going back to and knowing the foundations of our country's formation will ensure and enforce that justice really is for all.
My experience as a home-schooling Mom, a tutor, and my college training as an educator helps me to understand the need for education to fit the child, not the child to fit the system. How to accomplish that is a high priority. Our children are our future and how we leave the State is their inheritance. My goal is to leave them with an inheritance worthy of the "Live free or die" motto.
As a member of the Veteran Business Owners Association, starting my own business, I was able to understand the struggles of small business development and growth. My work at what is now the Department of Business and Economic Affairs helped me to understand the workings of the government to promote the growth of small business. In other words, I've experienced both sides.

The best advice ever shared with me was …

"I can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens me."
