Pickup Trucks Collide On Clinton Street In Concord Near Interstate 89; 2 Taken To The Hospital

A trauma alert was issued for a man in his 80s with significant injuries Thursday after Hillsboro EMTs came upon the crash and rendered aid.

CONCORD, NH — Part of Clinton Street in Concord was closed to traffic on Thursday morning after a crash at the street’s intersection with Interstate 89.

Around 11:30 a.m., Capital Region Fire Dispatch received a tip from a Hillsboro EMT about a two-vehicle crash on Clinton Street. The EMTs stopped to assist at the scene. A Hillsboro EMT told fire dispatch a second ambulance would be needed.

Concord fire and rescue teams arrived and requested a trauma alert at the hospital, saying the driver, in his 80s, had “multi-system” injuries. They also requested police for traffic.

Police dispatch also received calls about the crash, with one witness saying there was a driver in the road but they appeared to have moved. The crash was initially reported near Iron Works Road.

The first-arriving officer confirmed the crash and requested additional officers to control traffic or shut down the street. The crash, it turned out, was at the off-ramp of I-89. At least one of the drivers had serious injuries, according to an officer.

One pickup truck had a Massachusetts registration while the other was from New Hampshire.

Two people were taken to Concord Hospital with injuries around 11:45 a.m.

News 603 posted a video of the crash on Facebook.

A publication time, part of the area is still closed to traffic.
