Police Investigators Seek Tips After 2 Unattended Deaths In Concord’s Walmart Parking Lot: Follow-Up
Crimeline Alert: The men were found dead in the store lot inside vehicles — a Subaru with a NH registration and a Jeep with Mass. plates.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police are asking for the public’s help after two dead bodies were found Friday afternoon in the parking lot of Walmart on Loudon Road.
Around 1:15 p.m., police were sent to the store to investigate an unattended death. It was initially reported, Lt. Thomas Yerkes of the department’s bureau of investigations said, that a man was seated inside a parked vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound.
“The subject was confirmed to be deceased at the scene,” he said.

The man was found in the driver’s seat of a Subaru Impreza with a New Hampshire registration. He had a headshot wound, and he reportedly had the firearm in his hand. Patch learned from witnesses the vehicle was in the parking lot at least since Tuesday night.

A bullet reportedly exited a window and entered a storage container next to the vehicle.
During the process of investigating the first body, a Jeep parked mere feet from the Subaru had a man seated inside who was also confirmed dead. The vehicle’s windows were covered, and police and firefighters were seen attempting to access it via the driver’s side door on Friday afternoon.
The Jeep had a Massachusetts registration.
“The identity of the deceased subjects will not be released at this time as these incidents remain active and ongoing investigations,” Yerkes said. “The manner of death of the deceased subjects has yet to be determined. At this time, there is believed to be no threat to the general public related to these incidents.”
It is unknown whether the bodies were connected.
It is not suspected the bodies had any connection to a report of dozens of gunshots heard on the NHTI, Concord’s community college, campus, a couple of hours before the discovery of the bodies at Walmart.
Michael Garrity, the director of communications and external affairs for the New Hampshire Department of Justice, which usually handles homicides and murders outside of large cities, issued a statement Friday night saying the DOJ’s Homicide Unit had “not been called to respond to any suspicious deaths in Concord.”
Yerkes said police were continuing to investigate the incident.
