Realtors Raise $8K for Homeless Nonprofit

Money will go to the Concord Coalition to End Homelessness.

The Capital Area Board of REALTORS recently raised $8,248.17 at its annual Charity Auction for the Concord Coalition to End Homelessness.

A check for that amount was presented by Jean Dineen, 2013 Capitol Region Board of REALTORS President to The Reverend David Keller, co-chair of the coalition, at a gathering last month.

The Coalition’s mission is to convene providers, key partners, and other stakeholders in the work to end homelessness in the greater Concord Community. It also oversees the Concord Homeless Resource Center, which has over 6,000 visits a year for services to homeless people in Concord.

“This is a phenomenal gift and a great act of generosity from a group whose mission is to find appropriate housing for people. We are so very grateful and we want them to know that this money will be very important as our community moves toward finding permanent solutions to the problem of homelessness,” Reverend Keller said.

The Capitol Region Board of REALTORS, in addition to the Annual Charity Auction, is continually involved with community outreach efforts, including but not limited to, volunteering at the Penacook Community Open Door Kitchen, sponsoring an Annual Coat Drive, working with the Red Cross with Annual Blood Drives and hosting an annual Charity Golf Tournament to raise scholarship funds for local high school graduates for their college education.
