Salem Wins Squeaker In Concord; Exeter, Milford, Nashua North Win: NH Wrestling Results
Souhegan beats Bishop Guertin while Bedford, Londonderry, Manchester Central, Merrimack, Nashua South, and Windham competed on Wednesday.
CONCORD, NH — The undefeated season for Concord High School’s wrestling team ended Wednesday after the Salem Blue Devils came away with a dramatic win, 38 to 31.
The Crimson Tide started strong, racking up five straight wins with its upper-weight wrestlers.
Co-Captain Anthony Gualtieri pinned Joseph Havens of Salem in the 165, while Jacoby Merrill bested Adrian Loria Alicea by majority decision, 9-1, in the 175. In the 190, Carl Sirrianna bested Salem’s Zander Wood by technical fall, 17-2, and then Isaiah Puckett in the 215 continued suit over James Nelson of Salem with an 11-1 majority decision. Wayne Gutierrez Sakakeeny in the 285 then pinned Jack McElroy of Salem.

The Blue Devils then came roaring back.
John Blocksidge in the 106 won a decision against Concord’s Biswas Darji, 7-0, while Maddox Boudreau beat Carter Buxton by fall in the 113. Trevor O’Brien of Salem then pinned Isaiah Brien in the 120. Salem’s Evan Lynch won a majority decision in the 126 against Owen Gregg, 18-4. Salem then shifted its originally announced 132 and 138 wrestlers. Dominic Schinella was to face Talen Walton in the 132, but Salem pulled him and put in Spencer Buscema, a New Hampshire-ranked wrestler, who pinned Schinella. Walton then won after Concord’s 138-pound wrestler forfeited.

Jaxon Carter, wrestling Salem’s Caleb O’Rourke in the 144, won by pin with a quick cradle, bringing the score to 31-31.
Reilly O’Brien of Salem and Sawyer McCready, another co-captain for Concord, battled it out in the 150 division. The bout went to triple overtime, with O’Brien prevailing by a point with seconds remaining in the final period. Salem’s John Vargas then beat Ryley Holt in the 157 by a majority decision, 14-6.
Crimson Tide’s junior varsity wrestlers performed well against the Blue Devils, winning 11 to 7.
Timbo Beats Bedford, 52-18
Timberlane Regional High School competed in Bedford on Wednesday and came away with a win.
Bedford wrestlers winning their bouts included Jack Bergeron in the 144, Tucker Watson in the 157, and Camden Santos in the 175. Gavin McConnell, wrestling in the 215, also won by forfeit.
Nashua South Falls To Exeter
The Blue Hawks easily contained the Panthers at home on Wednesday, 69-3.
The matches started off with the 144 and Exeter’s Nicholas Darby pinning John McDevitt. Tristian Bennett, in the 150, pinned Hamir Pathania, while Juan Bueno, in the 157, won a 12-6 decision over Alex Rochette of Nashua South. Nick Samos of Nashua South beat Avery Niemi, 9-7, in the 165. In the 175, Ryan Mikulsky of Exeter bested Nick Samos by pin. Noah Stonge of Exeter in the 190 won a 1-0 decision over Logan Rice. In the 106, Exeter’s Reid Grandmason pinned John Signor, while Hudson Berry pinned Noah Beasley of Nashua South in the 120. Nathan Benson of Exeter in the 126 beat Marlon Gomez by decision, 19-12. Harrison Higgins of Exeter pinned James Nydam-McKenna in the 132, while Ryan Grandmason of Exeter pinned Tristan Albert.
Caleb Sturtevant, Luke St.Onge, and Ryder Marchand of Exeter all won by forfeit.
Spaulding Bests Londonderry, 45 to 32
The Lancers traveled to Rochester on Wednesday but fell short of a win.
Manny Perez, Brendan Egan, Cam Roussell, Dylan Nadeau, and Caleb Holden all won for Londonderry. Lucas DeLeon, in the 106, also won by forfeit.
Manchester Central Falls To Nashua North
The Titans beat the visiting Little Green on Wednesday, 57 to 24.
Gavin Page for Nashua North in the 132 pinned Zach Helie, as did Julian Palladini in the 144 over Jaysuel Mercado-Badillo of Central and North’s Kayden Vallerand-Kennaeally over Christian Cruz in the 150 and Yuri Soraes of North in the 157 over Rafdy Castillo. In the 165, Demetrio Cortez of Central beat Fernando Naranjo, and Drake Jaimes did the same in the 175 over Connor Rivard of North. Ruben De Jesus of North won a 10-7 decision over Soal Panyanouvong, while Central’s Angel Lopez pinned Benjamin Laflamme in the 215. North’s David Cole in the 285 pinned Gannon Williford.
Hyro Melikian won by forfeit for Manchester Central, while Bryce Baumeister, Craig Burge, Hayden Durocher, and Caleb Smith of Nashua North all won by default. 0
Tomahawks Fall To The Spartans, 61-18
Merrimack visited Milford High School on Wednesday but the Spartans came away with a solid win.
Owen Sayball of Merrimack beat Calix Lajoie by injury in the 126, while Connor Sayball pinned Kiernan Lordan in the 132. Milford’s Cameron Stickney won by technical fall, 16-1, against Landon Shultz in the 138. In the 144, Tanner Herbert of Milford pinned Kael McAloon, while Phillip Wright pinned Brayden Callen of Merrimack in the 150, and in the 157, Jace Wilhelmi of Milford pinned Justin Foss. Noah Kittredge in the 165 beat Amir Safa of Merrimack by fall. Jack Clancy of Milford in the 175 beat Carter Anderson, SV-1 8-5, in overtime. Milford’s Nathanael Post in the 190 pinned Leland Eaton, while in the 215, Elijah Wales of Milford pinned Joseph Elnar, and Brandon Leeman of Milford won against Tyler Hansbury in the 285 by fall. In the 106, Charlene Haddad of Merrimack pinned Brayden Butler. Josh Enright of Milford, in the 113, won by forfeit. In the 120, Kane Davis bested Merrimack’s Avary Berardinelli by technical fall, 19-4.
In extra matches, Extra: Colton Schuster of Milford beat Brandon Gendron in the 126, Milford’s Carter Bebey beat Jack Anderson by technical fall, 16-1, in the 132, Devin Woods of Milford in the 138 pinned Mason Caron, in the 175, Joseph Schnitzler pinned Avery Lanteigne of Merrimack, and Brendan Mazerall of Milford beat Cooper Seltsam-Wilps by fall.
Sabers Beat Guertin, 40-18
Souhegan High School traveled to Bishop Guertin and came away with a win on Wednesday.
Kyle Sukcharoenphon, Jack Kaler, Benjamin Smiley, Cole Brandt, Sam Albert, and Noah Daily all won bouts while Owen Kostecki in the 120-weight category won by default for Souhegan.
Goffstown Whips Windham, 75-6
The Grizzlies faced off against the Cougars on Wednesday and easily won all but one bout.
Five of Goffstown’s wins were by forfeit. Windham’s Jason Ciano, in the 113, pinned his Goffstown competitor in the meet.
Other Results
On Wednesday, Alvirne bested Kingswood Regional High School 47 to 23. Keene also beat Pinkerton Academy, 52 to 24.
