Police brought in a K-9 unit that searched the area but the scent ended at the driveway. A state police bloodhound was brought in around 3 a.m. on Monday and that tracker ended at the driveway, too.
Fish and Game brought in another 10 K-9 units from New Hampshire and Vermont to assist while state police searched the area from the air via helicopter and drones. Other departments joined in this morning.
Goldstein raised concerns about finding the boy due to incoming bad weather, which includes heavy rain and low temperatures adding that the boy was not dressed for the weather. He added that he was "concerned" the boy had been "abducted by a stranger or is in the woods, exposed to the elements."
Police are requesting anyone living in the area of Gile Road in Franklin to check their own surveillance cameras for vehicles that may have been in the area. Goldstein stressed if someone who knows the child picked him up, please contact authorities immediately.
The mother of the child is from Korea and has been here for two years and is involved with a man who lives locally. Authorities have been in contact with the FBI to provide an interpreter to assist with a language barrier.
Franklin police say the child is approximately 4 feet, 8 inches tall, and about 70 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt, pink-multicolored T-shirt, blue/brown running shoes, and gray sweatpants.
