Snow Leads to Crashes Across Southern, Central NH

Area police are reporting the road conditions are extremely poor.

Snow-covered roads led to numerous accidents across southern and central New Hampshire on Saturday morning.

In Concord, the flakes started appearing around 10 a.m. and were heavy at first. The snow quickly turned to a more slushy mix, causing problems on the roads.

At around 11:30 a.m., police started being sent to accidents around the capital region, including a rollover on I-93 north near Exit 16 and a few minutes later, another rollover just east of the I-393 and Route 106 intersection.

At about the same time, an accident was reported on Route 125 in Kingston. There was no word on injuries. Around that same time, a car versus pole occurred in the area of 10 Crane Crossing Road in Plaistow. Two people were reportedly injured.

Accidents were also reported on the Spaulding Turnpike in Portsmouth, on Route 121A in Sandown, on Bennett Way in Newmarket, on Route 27 in Epping, on Sandown Road in Hampstead and on Broad Street in Nashua.

At 12:15 p.m., Concord Police were called to an accident at Oak Hill Road and Shawmut while New Hampshire State Police were called to a crash on I-93 south just before Exit 16.

A few minutes later, Concord, Bow, and state police, as well as two ambulances, were called to a two-car crash on Clinton Street just before the border with Bow. The road was closed for about two hours, with traffic re-routed around the accident. At least two were transported to the hospital, according to scanner chatter.

Numerous area police departments sent messages out on social media warning drivers of the poor road conditions.
