Snowstorm To Drop 6-10 Inches On Southern NH

Latest New Hampshire weather forecast: snow and sleet will cover the state mid-week.

SOUTHERN NH — Gas up that snow blower because another half-foot of snow or more is on the way for Southern New Hampshire this week. The snow is expected to start Tuesday around noon and continue through Wednesday. The region will see six to 10 inches of snow mixed with sleet, according to The National Weather Service's latest forecast.

A winter storm watch was issued for Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Coastal communities will see more rain and lower snow accumulation.

"The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute," NWS said in a statement.

This is the latest NWS forecast for the storm:

"Tuesday: Snow, mainly after 11am. High near 28. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tuesday Night: Snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 3am, then sleet likely between 3am and 4am, then freezing rain and sleet likely after 4am. The sleet could be heavy at times. Low around 26. East wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Wednesday: A chance of rain and sleet before 7am, then a chance of rain between 7am and 10am. The sleet could be heavy at times. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26."

Thursday and Friday will be mostly sunny, with highs near 40 degrees. Rain moves in Friday night into Saturday.
