Star Student: Sam Is Creating Journalism For The Junior Council
We all know students who excel in academics, fine arts, or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who is having an impact in Concord.

CONCORD, NH — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Amanda Grady Sexton, who nominated Sam, Grade 4 of Concord.

How do you know the star local student?
Sam is my son.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
In a nationwide search, Sam was selected from hundreds of applicants to serve on The Week Junior magazine's "Junior Council."
The Junior Council is a collective of 12 students, ages 8 to 14, who will collaborate with one another to produce content for The Week Junior magazine. Through webinars and workshops, Junior Council members discover how to develop informed opinions and turn their ideas into action.
They receive age-appropriate research and writing assignments, gain interview experience, engage community leaders in conversations, and collaborate with one another to produce content for the magazine.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
