3 Injured Before Police Officer Shoots, Kill Man In Meredith
A Meredith police officer shot and killed David Donovan on Bennett Drive after arriving at the scene and finding 3 injured Sunday.
MEREDITH, NH — New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald announced an officer-involved shooting incident involving an adult male located on Bennett Drive in Meredith on Nov. 15.
The NH AG's Office said David Donovan, 35, was shot by a Meredith police officer and died as a result of his injuries after being taken to Lakes Regional General Hospital.

Monday NH Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie V. Duval conducted an autopsy on Mr. Donovan, and determined that the cause of his death was gunshot wounds to the abdomen and right upper extremity.
Mr. Donovan was shot twice, once in the right arm and once in the abdomen. The manner of his death is homicide. As used by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, homicide is defined as the killing of one person by another.

Three other individuals sustained injuries at the scene prior to police arrival. One of the individuals, a man, was transported for medical treatment and remains hospitalized in stable condition.

No officers have been physically injured and there is no threat to the public. Pursuant to protocol, the name of the officer involved in the incident is being withheld pending the conclusion of the formal interview.
The exact circumstances surrounding this incident remain actively under investigation. No further information will be released until after the involved officer’s formal interview is completed.
