Building Inspector / Code Enforcement Officer

The Town of Bow, NH (8,229 pop.) is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer.

The Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer performs responsible inspection and administrative work regarding properties and buildings to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes relative to building construction, land and building use, and land development in the Town, including building plans review, field inspections, and building and zoning code enforcement.

Qualified applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture field and two years’ construction industry experience or equivalent and have knowledge of approved methods and materials used in building construction, repair, and renovation; knowledge and experience in applying regulations and codes; ability to clearly and effectively communicate with contractors and the general public. Must possess a valid NH driver’s license and be able to obtain certifications for commercial and residential inspections and plans examination within one year of appointment.

The Town of Bow offers a competitive salary dependent upon qualifications and experience plus a full benefits package. Salary range $35.69 to $43.47 per hour DOQ.
