CONCORD, NH — Electric utilities in New Hampshire are working to restore power to thousands of Granite Staters after wind gusts as high as 45 mph downed trees and wires around the state.

Earlier in the day, close to 20,000 customers were without power as blustery wind knocked down power lines and trees all around the state. At around 2 p.m., about 14,000 outages were being reported.

Eversource, the state’s largest utility, had more than 9,000 without power. Most of the outages were between 300 and 900 customers out, in Franklin, Washington, Rochester, Milford, Weare, Goffstown, Grantham, and Hudson. Smaller outages were reported in towns around the capital city, Nashua, Windham, Bedford, Londonderry, and Amherst.
