Woman Taken To Concord Hospital After Being Struck By An SUV On Manchester Street

The woman sustained head and hip injuries as a result of the crash Saturday night; a Good Samaritan, a doctor, assisted before EMTs arrived.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police spent several hours investigating a crash reportedly involving a vehicle striking a pedestrian on Manchester Street Sunday night.

Just before 9:30 p.m., police, firefighters, and EMTs were sent to Manchester Street between Garvins Falls Road and Centerwood Drive for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. A police dispatcher said the person was “conscious and breathing,” but it was unclear whether they were up and walking around. Capital Region Fire Dispatch informed firefighters en route that a Good Samaritan, a doctor, was rendering aid. A police dispatcher reported the driver of the vehicle was still at the scene.

After several officers arrived, the street was closed down. The vehicle was identified as a Toyota Highlander owned by a woman from Goffstown. The driver was a man in his early 50s. The victim was a woman in her early 40s. A man was also with the woman at the time of the crash.

EMTs evaluated the victim, who was well-known to the police. And as she was prepared for transport to Concord Hospital, due to serious bodily injuries to the head and hip, another officer was requested to the scene.

“I don’t want her to jump out of the ambulance or something,” one officer said.
