Applecrest Farm Sued Over Wagon Accident
One of the individuals hurt, allegedly due to poor maintenance, has sued the orchard for monetary damages.

A Nottingham man has sued Hampton Falls' Applecrest Farm after suffering four broken ribs, a punctured lung, severe knee damage and a variety of other injuries during a hayride incident in which a woman had to throw herself in front of horses that got spooked after a wagon broke, according to the Union Leader.
The paper has reported that Gregory Dow, who was thrown from one of the wagons involved in the September 2011 incident that seriously injured Joan Perkins, has filed a suit in Rockingham Superior Court claiming that Applecrest failed to maintain the wagons and other equipment for the horses in a “safe and reasonable condition.”
Perkins, 51, of Epping was trampled and seriously injured on Sept. 25, 2011, when she threw herself in front of her horses in order to save a group of people after her horses spooked due to a mechanical malfunction.
