Exeter Memorial Day Parade
VFW Post 2181 Cmdr. Dave Lyman, after seeing busy parade route: 'It does my heart good.'
Memorial Day has a special place in Dave Lyman's heart. The commander of VFW Post 2181 said it's a time to reflect on all the servicemen who have died to protect this country.
Standing next to Gov. Maggie Hassan before she delivered remarks at the Memorial Day ceremony at Gale Park in Exeter, Lyman also gave a smile to the young people who lined the streets for the annual parade and to those participating. Boys and girls walked in the parade, and the high school band marched and played along behind town and state dignitaries.
As the ceremony proceeded, members of Boy Scout Troop 323 in Exeter presented a wreath and lowered Old Glory to half-staff.
