Exeter Police Association Drive Raises $15K for the Arkell Family

The funds came in many forms, including donations from a children's lemonade stand.

The Exeter Police Association reports that its drive to help the family of the late Officer Steve Arkell has generated more than $15,000 in donations.

All the money will go directly to Arkell's family.

A message from the Exeter Police Association via Patrick Mulholland:

"The Exeter Police Association would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support during Monday's fundraiser.

"Hundreds of people donated what they could to show their support and gratitude. We had people come by who gathered donations throughout the weekend and children donating what they made from a lemonade stand. Over $15,000 was raised and we have not counted the loose change yet, which is probably a couple hundred dollars. The Exeter Police Association will also be making a donation on top of what has already been raised.

"A special thanks to Signs of the Times for donating the "Support Ofc. Arkell" signs. I would also like to thank all the media outlets for spreading the word for us, which made this so successful. Their are so many people to thank but I cannot list them all. All the money raised will go directly to the Arkell Family.

Thanks again to everyone."
