Exeter Ranked Third-Best Place To Live In NH

Exeter was highlighted for its low crime rate and strong school system by the rankings site HomeSnacks.

EXETER, NH — A recent survey has confirmed what Exeter residents probably already know — that it's one of the best places to live in New Hampshire. Exeter was ranked No. 3 on the "Best Places to Live in New Hampshire For 2019" survey by the rankings site HomeSnacks. Hanover was ranked No. 1.

The survey was based on Census data, FBI crime statistics, home values, incomes and health insurance coverage. Exeter was highlighted for its low unemployment rate, high household incomes and strong school system.

"The crime rate is much lower here than in the rest of New Hampshire, as there were only 11 violent crimes in the city limits last year," HomeSnacks wrote. "The unemployment rate is the 7th lowest in New Hampshire (4.7%), and the public schools are ranked 3rd in the state in terms of spending per student. Additionally, homes are the 10th most expensive in Exeter ($228,900), meaning a lot of people want to live there. Plus, the residents earn a really great salary: $66,964 a year."
