Felon, Sex Offender Parolee Arrested On 3rd DWI After Crash: New Hampshire State Police

EXETER, NH — A felon and sex offender from Manchester was arrested on a third driving while intoxicated charge after a crash on Friday night on Route 111 in Exeter, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Around 8:45 p.m., Auburn police were involved in a chase on the eastbound side of Route 101 and state police began assisting. Police claimed the vehicle had been “operating erratically” in the town before entering the highway, Trooper Nicole Stone of the state police said. In Exeter, the chase moved onto local roads. State police laid out spike strips near the intersection of Route 111 and Pickpocket Road. Stone said the driver being chased, attempting to elude the spike strips, crashed into another vehicle that stopped along Route 111. The driver of the stopped vehicle was taken to Exeter Hospital with minor injuries.

Kevin Labelle, 32, of Manchester was arrested on reckless conduct, criminal mischief, criminal restraint, and driving as a habitual offender charges, all felonies, as well as driving while intoxicated-third offense, aggravated DWI, conduct after an accident, driving without proof, and driving after suspension. Stone noted Labelle was out on parole at the time of the accident and was also a registered sex offender. Labelle was taken to Exeter Hospital with minor injuries, while a passenger was taken to Portsmouth Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. His parole was then revoked, and he was taken to the Rockingham County Jail and held.

Labelle is a sex offender due to a misdemeanor sexual assault conviction in September 2010. According to the state of New Hampshire sex offender registry, between 2009 and 2021, he has been convicted on nearly 40 charges, including domestic violence, false imprisonment, stalking, resisting, violation of probation, duty to report, habitual offender, disobeying an officer, operating without a license, criminal trespass, false report to police, receiving stolen property, simple assault, criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child, and driving while intoxicated.

Along with Auburn and Exeter police, troopers were assisted by Exeter fire and rescue teams and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department.
