Needham Bank Charitable Foundation Awards $120,000 In Grants To Support 6 Nonprofits In NH And MA

NB Bancorp, Inc. (holding company for Needham Bank) announced that the Needham Bank Charitable Foundation has awarded $120,000 in grants to six non-profit organizations that serve the Bank’s new markets in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, following its merger with BankProv.

The Needham Bank Charitable Foundation presented six donations of $20,000 each to mission-driven organizations in Portsmouth, Seabrook, Exeter, and Bedford, New Hampshire, as well as non-profits in Amesbury and Newburyport, Massachusetts.

“This merger has allowed Needham Bank to expand into new market areas and serve more customers on the North Shore of Massachusetts and in Southern New Hampshire,” said Joseph P. Campanelli, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Needham Bank. “It also allows us to support local organizations that reflect the same values of our Foundation: community investment, local impact, and supporting people where they live and work.”

The $20,000 grant awards were presented to all recipients at a December 9th ribbon cutting event for the newly branded Needham Bank branch in Portsmouth, NH. The finale event capped a series of ribbon cuttings that had been conducted over several days at each of the six branches acquired by the Bank under the merger deal with the former BankProv.

The Needham Bank branch in Portsmouth, NH is supporting Gather for a Hunger Free Community with its donation. Gather offers innovative programs that build food security in welcoming and dignified ways. It offers food pantries, mobile markets, and meals. They work hard feeding individuals and families across the Greater Seacoast. Needham Bank is honored to support an organization with such deep community roots.

The Seabrook, NH branch is supporting Greater Seacoast Community Health (including Families First) with their donation. This organization is a network of community health centers providing medical and behavioral health care, social work, parenting classes, and more. They offer sliding-scale payments for uninsured or under-insured patients. They play a vital role in providing accessible health care to individuals and families in the Greater Seacoast Region. Needham Bank admires the breadth of care they provide to those who need it most.

The Exeter, NH branch is supporting NH Jump$tart (New Hampshire JumpStart). This organization is dedicated to improving the personal financial education and financial literacy of students across New Hampshire. Their mission aligns very closely with Needham Bank’s values as a financial institution. The former BankProv had a history of volunteering with NH Jump$tart, Needham Bank will continue that support.

Out of its Bedford, NH branch, Needham Bank is proud to be partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester. This organization provides kids with security and a sense of belonging through afterschool and summer programs that help build strong futures. They are dedicated to creating safe, supportive, enriching environments for children and families, and have made a life-changing impact on youth development across Greater Manchester.

The Amesbury, MA branch is supporting Pettengill House in Salisbury through the Needham Bank Charitable Foundation’s grant award. Pettengill House is a social service agency providing comprehensive case management, basic needs support, emergency assistance, crisis intervention, and essential services for individuals, children, and families in nine Massachusetts towns, including Amesbury.

Finally, Needham Bank in Newburyport, MA is using the Foundation funding to benefit Housing Support, Inc. This organization is a nonprofit housing development corporation providing housing and related support services to low income, homeless, and disabled individuals in MA and NH. The merger of BankProv into Needham Bank created the sixth largest Massachusetts-based bank, based on deposit market share.
