Heroin Found In Gummy Bears, NH Police Say

BARRINGTON, NH — Drug dealers hid heroin in a bag of gummy bears and shipped to a New Hampshire residence, police said Thursday. Officers intercepted the package and said there was a packet of heroin sealed inside a Haribo Gold Bears gummy bears bag.

"This package of gummy bears appeared unopened, but they was a very small area where the package was resealed," Barrington police said in a statement. "There was a small package within it that contained a brown powder."

Police said a field test showed the substance was heroin. Officers are working with postal officials to determine where the package came from and where it was sent to. No arrests were announced as of Friday; police said they are continuing to investigate.
