Man Found Dead In Kayak On The Exeter River In Brentwood
An elderly man appeared to be hunting when he experienced a medical emergency and died while in a kayak. His name has not been released.

BRENTWOOD, NH — Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a concerned citizen of an individual floating in a kayak in the middle of the Exeter River on Saturday.
Brentwood police arrived on the scene and observed a kayak floating in the river and saw a male individual lying down motionless inside the kayak not responding to their verbal commands.
Brentwood Fire and EMS arrived on the scene a short time later accompanied by Fremont Police Department and New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers. Responding personnel found a 79-year-old man deceased in the kayak. The man, according to NH Fish and Game Officers, appeared to be hunting along the Exeter River when he suffered a medical emergency.

All aspects of the incident are under investigation, but it appears that this was a medical emergency. The man's identity is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.
NH Fish and Game said they would like to remind all outdoor recreators in the field to always notify at least one other person of your whereabouts in case of an emergency and to always know your physical limitations.
