Ohio Congressman Rallies Local Dems

U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, Gov. Maggie Hassan and U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter led the charge for the 2014 mid-term elections.

U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, joined several prominent New Hampshire political leaders on Sunday at the 10th annual Rockingham County Democrats Clambake who urged their fellow Democrats to work hard for the 2014 mid-term elections, according to Foster's Daily Democrat.

Foster's Daily Democrat reported that Ryan said Democrats need to do more “movement building” in America if the country wants to have another great American century. The newspaper also reported that Ryan said he is determined to make sure that Americans can earn decent wages, can afford to retire and have access to quality healthcare.

According to Larry Drake, chairman of the Portsmouth Democratic Committee, Ryan represents the 13th district in northeastern Ohio and serves on the House Armed Services and Budget committees.

Drake said Ryan is known as "a relentless advocate for working families" and serves as co-chairman of the Congressional Manufacturing Caucus and a leader in the fight to strengthen America’s manufacturing base and reform U.S. trade policies. Drake said Ryan has served in Congress since 2003 and obtained his law degree from the Franklin Pierce Law Center, which is now the University of New Hampshire School of Law.

Drake previously said that Ryan was expected to deliver a speech that would "inspire us to work hard for the Democratic cause and for Democratic candidates in next year’s mid-term elections.”
