EXETER, NH — Exeter police are investigating a train and pedestrian accident on Monday morning. Just after 2:30 a.m., officers were sent to the Lincoln Street train station for a report of a man struck by a CSX freight train. The man was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to Chief Stephan Poulin of the Exeter Police Department. "The incident caused the closure of Main Street and Front Street railroad crossings for a brief period of time," he said. "Exeter police are currently working with the CSX authorities (and) the case remains under investigation." The man's name was being withheld, Poulin said. Do you have a news tip?
