Race Honors Police Chief Michael Maloney
The second annual "Chief Maloney Unity Run and Walk" honored police officers, firefighters, and EMTs.
Thousands of Seacoast runners and walkers participated in the second annual "Chief Maloney Unity Run and Walk" Sunday.
According to race organizers, this year's event remembered Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney a year after he was killed during a drug raid on April 12, 2012, provided funds for the Chief Michael Maloney Relief Fund, and honored all first responders.
Up to 3,000 people converged at the Portsmouth Municipal Complex on Junkins Avenue before 9 a.m. to run and walk the 5.6-mile race to the Greenland Police Station along South Street and Route 33. Waiting for them was plenty of live music, food, beverages and fellowship.
