Release of $500K for Affordable Housing
The "request for release" of funds is for the creation of 39 affordable housing units.
The town of Exeter is scheduled Monday to request the release of Community Development Block Grant funds of $500,000 for the proposed affordable housing project known as Meeting Place III.
Of those funds, $475,000 will be sub-granted to Avesta Housing in connection with the creation of 39 units of low- to moderate- income housing units, according to the town.
Gov. Maggie Hassan and the Executive Council authorized the Community Development Finance Authority last month to award the financing.
The Meeting Place site is Meeting Place Road, off Epping Road, in Exeter.
The total project cost is an estimated $8,477,409, according to the town's notice of the CDBD fund release.
As part of the funds release, the town has "determined that the project will have no significant impact on the human environment. This determination is based on the assumption that the project owner will obtain all permits required and will adhere to all applicable regulations. Therefore, an Environmental Impact Statement under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) is not required."
Here is the "request for release of funds" document on the town's website.
