Bamforth Announces Candidacy for Hampton Budget Committee
Strong Growth, Responsible Spending
I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the Hampton Budget Committee in the upcoming March 11 election. As a longtime resident of New Hampshire and a member of the Hampton community since 2015, I am deeply invested in the future of our town. With my extensive background in business, technology, and financial management, I am stepping up to serve because I believe Hampton needs stronger fiscal oversight, increased transparency, and a renewed focus on cost efficiency.
A Background in Business and Financial Management
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, but my professional career has been centered around technology, business leadership, and financial stewardship. I began my career in software development before founding my own consulting business. Over the years, I have worked with both start-ups and large technology companies, taking on leadership roles that have given me deep experience in budgeting, profit and loss (P&L) management, contract negotiation, business process analysis, and customer relationship management.
A significant portion of my career has been spent overseeing large-scale, multi-million-dollar technology projects while serving as the primary liaison between clients and professional services teams. These roles have required me to analyze complex financial data, negotiate contracts, and manage large budgets—skills that directly translate to the work of the Hampton Budget Committee. I believe my expertise in collaboration, financial analysis, and process optimization will be an asset in ensuring that our town's resources are managed responsibly and effectively.
Addressing Hampton’s Fiscal Challenges
Hampton is a wonderful place to live, but like many residents, I am increasingly concerned about the town’s financial trajectory. The rapid rise in property taxes has placed a significant burden on homeowners, and I believe we must do more to control spending while finding new ways to enhance revenue without simply raising taxes.
As a member of the Budget Committee, I will be a strong advocate for taxpayers, working to ensure that every dollar is spent wisely. My approach will focus on:

- Increasing Efficiency: Carefully analyzing municipal budgets and processes to identify areas where cost-saving measures can be implemented without sacrificing essential services.
- Enhancing Transparency and Accountability: Ensuring that the budgeting process is clear, open, and accessible to the public, so taxpayers understand where their money is going.
- Diversifying Revenue Streams: Advocating for creative solutions to generate revenue beyond the continued reliance on increasing residential property taxes.
- Promoting Fiscal Responsibility: Pushing back against unnecessary expenditures and making sure the town prioritizes projects that truly benefit our community.
Why I Am Running
I decided to run for the Hampton Budget Committee because I believe our town government can do a better job of managing expenditures and being accountable to the taxpayers. The recent massive increase in property taxes is unsustainable, and without strong fiscal oversight, this trend will continue. Hampton residents deserve a Budget Committee that takes a proactive approach to financial management—one that challenges excessive spending and seeks out opportunities for greater efficiency.
My professional experience has given me the skills to analyze complex budgets, ask the tough questions, and advocate for responsible financial planning. But more than that, I am committed to ensuring that the voices of Hampton’s taxpayers are heard in every budgetary decision made by our town government.
A Commitment to Hampton
My wife and I love this community, and I want to do my part to ensure that it remains a great place to live—not just for us, but for future generations. I am excited by the opportunity to serve on the Budget Committee and to work toward a more responsible, transparent, and taxpayer-friendly financial future for Hampton. I respectfully ask for your support and your vote on March 11. Together, we can bring greater accountability and fiscal responsibility to our town government.
