Hampton Academy delivered better news, with Ari Hulbert-Nuzzolo and Pammy Valhouli leading a 39-29 win over Marshwood, while other Seacoast teams from Exeter to Oyster River also logged key early-season results.
   

• Rye Harbor shacks get new deals for 2026 as lawsuit is dismissed (seacoastonline.com) — Shack owners at Rye and Hampton harbors have secured one-year operating agreements for 2026, easing some uncertainty for local waterfront businesses. An engineering study now recommends keeping the small shacks and focusing instead on safety upgrades, new public facilities, and reconfigured parking, while a related civil lawsuit over Rye Harbor operations was recently dismissed but may be appealed.
   

• Mother of Kensington man killed by police files wrongful death suit (seacoastonline.com) — Hampton is one of seven Seacoast communities named in a new federal wrongful death lawsuit filed by the mother of a Kensington man shot by police in 2024. The suit claims officers from multiple departments used excessive, militarized tactics during a mental health crisis, while the state attorney general previously ruled the shooting legally justified. Hampton’s potential liability will hinge on how a court views those tactics and local policies.
