Beach Bar's License May Soon Be Suspended

Millie's Tavern wasn't "reasonable" or "prudent" while over-serving a patron, according to a liquor violation.

The New Hampshire Liquor Commission will discuss during a hearing today a recommended settlement for a Hampton Beach bar accused of over-serving a customer.

Millie's Tavern on L Street was hit with a liquor violation because the business "served or sold an alcoholic beverage to an individual who was visibly intoxicated or who a reasonable and prudent person would know is intoxicated" on May 4, 2012, according to the violation.

An agenda for the commission's Wednesday, April 10, meeting indicates the recommended punishment is that the bar's license to sell alcohol be suspended for five days and held in abeyance for 12 months pending there are no other violations, as well as a $500 administrative fine be imposed and four points be assessed to Millie's liquor license.
