Beachgoers Overcome Shark Scare, Re-Enter Water
Sharks were far from many people's minds at a local beach less than a day after a shark was spotted swimming along the shore.

A day after a shark sighting drove swimmers out of the water at Wallis Sands Beach in Rye, they returned Wednesday one state officials allowed them to re-enter.
Matt Beaudoin, the assistant manager of Wallis Sands State Park, said Wednesday morning the decision was made to let swimmers back into the water as the Coast Guard and New Hampshire Marine Patrol boats continue to search for a shark.
Beaudoin said beachgoers were asked to be extra vigilant if they choose to go into the ocean on a hot summer day with temperatures that will touch 90 degrees.
Meanwhile, WMUR reported Wednesday morning that two Hampton fishermen said they caught a 9-foot shark a few days ago and threw it back into the water.
Despite the danger posed by the shark, beach goers like Stacy MacLane of Hampton were taking it in stride. She said her children will probably not go very far out in the water and would be safe if a shark were spotted off shore.
