Bicyclist Hospitalized After Possible Hit-and-Run at Beach Plum
Police are investigating a possible hit-and-run accident that allegedly involved a car striking a bicyclist.

One person was transported to the hospital last week after an incident near the Beach Plum involving multiple bicyclists and a vehicle that allegedly left the scene of the accident before police arrived.
North Hampton Police Sgt. Josh Stokel said the incident, which occurred at about 4 p.m. on July 27, hasn't yet been ruled a hit-and-run accident. He said, though, that an investigation is still underway to determine what happened.
"[The department] is still investigating independent witnesses to make a conclusive determination," he said. "The matter is still under investigation."
Bill Ellis told Patch he was within a group of four bicyclists on July 27 when the vehicle collided with one of the other riders in front of the Beach Plum. Ellis said the vehicle, for which the bikers recorded the license plate, then "left the scene."
Ellis said the biker transported to the hospital suffered a "broken finger."
Stokel said he couldn't confirm any details of the accident due to the ongoing investigation.
