A special piece of artwork depicting numerous iconic Hampton Beach buildings, people and places was released Monday during a ceremony celebrating the area's past and present.
The artwork, a watercolor and mixed media lithograph made by nationally syndicated cartoonist and news illustrator Frank "Frankie" Galasso, debuted during an event at McGuirk's Ocean View Restaurant.
A sample of the completed lithograph is shown above. The work is part of a series of lithographs by Galasso, although he said this one is the "most meaningful thing" he's ever done due to his deep connection to the beach.
The lithograph, which Galasso has said was inspired by the award-winning rebirth of Hampton Beach, will be available for sale on Galasso's website and at Mrs. Mitchell's. Many shops and entities will also sell shirts, mugs and other items depicting the lithograph.
