Derry Shooting Suspect Taken Into Custody At Gunpoint In North Hampton

A man, reportedly in a "schizophrenic state," shot another person at the Lobster Claw II restaurant in Derry. He was caught near Goss Road.

NORTH HAMPTON, NH — A man accused of shooting another person at a Derry restaurant was found and arrested in North Hampton.

Specific information is limited at post time. According to scanner chatter, the shooting occurred at the Lobster Claw II around 5:45 p.m. One person was injured critically and taken to the Eliot Hospital in Manchester.

A BOLO (be-on-the-lookout) alert said the man was in a "schizophrenic state," driving either a Subaru or Cadillac.

The suspect was tracked, reportedly via his cell phone, and was thought to be in Rye near another restaurant.

Several law enforcement agencies searched for the suspect and were supported by the New Hampshire State Police helicopter.

The vehicle was spotted and after a short pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody at gunpoint on Route 111 near Goss Road by multiple officers.

The suspect was transported to the Rockingham County Jail where Derry Police Officers would pick him up.

The Cadilac described initially in the BOLO was towed from the scene, and with a trooper following it, it was brought to Derry Police Headquarters.
