Detective Shot in Chest During Drug Raid Returns to Work

One of the officers wounded in a deadly Seacoast raid is back on the force.

Multiple outlets have reported that Rochester Police Detective Jeremiah Murphy returned to duty this week for the first time since he was shot during the 2012 Greenland drug raid that claimed the life of Greenland Police Chief and North Hampton native Michael Maloney.

WMUR and the New Hampshire's Law Enforcement Facebook page both reported Wednesday that Murphy returned to work on Tuesday, and that he is reportedly "glad to be back at work."

Murphy was hospitalized after being shot in the chest on April 12, 2012, as officers on a regional drug task force attempted to serve a search warrant at the Post Road home of alleged dealer Cullen Mutrie. Mutrie opened fire on the officers, wounding four and killing Maloney as he attempted to rescue the wounded officers.
