Firefighters Ride Today for a Cause 'Near and Dear' to Their Hearts
Dozens of residents will be a part of a special charity event Saturday that starts and ends at a local restaurant.

Area firefighters will shed their uniforms in favor of a different kind of protective gear today as part of a motorcycle charity ride hosted by the local chapter of the Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club to benefit the 100 Club, which helps the families of fallen firefighters.
Hampton Falls Fire Lt. Brian Kent, president of the local chapter of Fire and Iron, said the run is open to the public. Kent said dozens of riders are expected to leave from Locals Restaurant and Pub in North Hampton at 11 a.m. for the ride, which will go to Poor People's Pub in Sanbornville before returning to Locals at 2 p.m. for food, drinks, live music and a 50-50 raffle.
Kent said the ride is $20 per motorcycle and $15 per passenger, and those donations also cover food and two drink tickets for each individual. Last year's ride featured 40 bikes and raised $600, and Kent said he's looking forward to a larger turnout this year to help out a "worthy cause" that is "near and dear" to his heart.
